Check your account NOW to avoid overpaying for your Disney Plus subscription

As of 6 December, if you pay monthly, your current Disney Plus subscription will have automatically upgraded from £7.99 to £10.99. That is, unless you have opted for either of the new Standard tiers.

If you pay annually, your subscription will automatically renew at £109.90. This is up £30 from the £79.90 you would have paid last time.

Although Disney sent out communications regarding this price change to all subscribers, many have missed it. This means you could be overpaying for your streaming subscription.

How do I stop paying more for Disney Plus?

It’s worth going into your account and switching now if you’d like to pay for one of these lower-priced tiers. Here’s how to do this.

  • Log in to your Disney Plus account, go to Profile > Account > Subscriptions and choose ‘Standard’ or ‘Standard with Ads’.

What if I have Disney Plus bundled with Sky?

Make sure to log into your Sky account to check if you’re not overpaying. There will be a link to manage your plan. Select Change > choose the plan you want to change to > Agree and Subscribe.

After this, you will receive a confirmation mail and your Disney Plus account will show the new subscription. You’ll be charged on your next payment date on a monthly or yearly basis from then onwards.

How can I cut the cost of my Disney Plus subscription?

If you’re looking to make a huge saving on your Disney Plus subscription, here’s what you can do:

Get an annual subscription and save up to £22

If you get an annual Disney Plus subscription (only available on Premium and Standard without ads plans), you will save money compared to if you pay monthly for a year. You basically pay for 10 months and get another two free.

For Standard, an annual subscription costs £79.90, whereas a monthly subscription taken over 12 months comes in almost £16 more expensive at £95.88.

And for Premium, paying £109.90 upfront will save you almost £22 as paying monthly will cost you £131.88 over the course of a year.

Of course, you’ll have to be sure you want to watch 12 months of Disney to make it worthwhile. It’s also a hefty upfront sum to pay. But it could save you money.
